KHUJAND, September 10, 2008, Asia-Plus — The limited liability company Petroleum Sughd operating in northern Tajikistan has increased oil productions.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the Petroleum Sughd technical director Ilhomjon Zohirov said that the company has produced 10,182 tons of oil for more than 8 million somonis since the beginning of this year, which is more than 2 million somonis more than in the same period of last year.
According to him, part of the produced oil has been sold to Austria’s ETA, which assumes the 60% ownership interest in the company.
“ETA has purchased 2,000 tons of oil produced this year,” said Zohirov, “Besides, 5,61 tons of oil have been purchased by the Isfara-based company Shohon, which will produce diesel and gasoline from it, and the rest has been sold to Hasan & Co.”
Over the report period, Petroleum Sughd, which owns 82 wells, with one of them being the gas well, in the Sughd province, has produced 1.677 million cubic meters of natural gas, the technical director said.
