DUSHANBE, January 23, 2014, Asia-Plus — Tajik and Russia are expected to exchange notes on government-to-government agreements on the status of the Russian military base in Tajikistan, duty-free Russian oil production deliveries to Tajikistan and labor migration cooperation on January 24.
The ceremony of exchange of the ratification notes will take place here on sidelines of the 12th meeting of the Tajik-Russian commission for trade and economic cooperation, co-chaired by Tajik Prime Minister Rasoul Qohirzoda and Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, the source said.
On the same day, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon will receive Igor Shuvalov. They sides will discuss issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation.
“The Tajik-Russian economic commission will discuss ways to ensure further expansion of cooperation between the two countries in energy, industrial, agrarian, education and health sectors,” the source said, adding that a special attention will be given to the issue of repayment of debts to the Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) Sangtudinskaya GES-1.
