DUSHANBE, February 24, 2014, Asia-Plus – On Saturday February 22, Tajik Minister of Finance Abdusalom Qurbonov met here with Mr. Jonathan Dunn, the head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) team that arrived in Tajikistan to hold discussions with Tajik senior government officials, development partners and private sector.

According to the Ministry of Finance (MoF)’s Secretariat, the sides discussed development of fiscal events, parameters of the Tajik national budget for 2014 in accordance with a medium-term program of sustainability of state expenses, as well as priorities of Tajik government’s economic policy.

Mr. Dunn reportedly shared his opinion on implementation of possible and control indicators of the macroeconomic and fiscal policy.

The sides paid a special attention to the financial and tax policy, including social spending, tackling Agorinvestbonk’s problems, external debt servicing, monitoring state-run enterprises, and relations of Tajikistan with other international financial institutions, the Secretariat said.      

Visiting IMF mission is reportedly also holding discussions on the main directors of economic policy with relevant MoF departments.
