DUSHANBE, April 14, 2015, Asia-Plus — Over the first three months of this, the external trade turnover of Tajikistan, including electrical power and natural gas, has amounted to 966.2 million U.S. dollars, which was 88.2 percent of the January-March 2014 level, according the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
Over the report period, the trade balance has been negative and amounted to 537.2 million U.S. dollars.
Exports of goods in January-March have amounted to 214.5 million U.S. dollars, which was 12.7 percent, or 24.2 million USD, more than in the same period last year.
Over the same three-month period, imports of goods into the country have amounted to 751.7 million U.S. dollars, which was 16.9 percent, or 153.3 million USD, more than in January-March 2014.
Over the first three months of this year, Tajikistan has had trade relations with 72 countries of the world, including ten CIS nations.
In January-March 2015, major trading partners of Tajikistan were: Russia – 266 million USD; Kazakhstan – 160 million USD; and Switzerland – 104 million USD.
