DUSHANBE, October 12, 2015, Asia-Plus – Russian air carrier, Ural Airlines, will replace Russian air carrier, Orenburg Airlines (Orenair), on the air routes from Orenburg to Dushanbe and Khujand beginning on October 26.

An official with the Civil Aviation Department at the Ministry of Transport of Tajikistan says Ural Airlines will operate flights from Orenburg to Dushanbe and Khujand once a week.
Ural Airlines is an airline based in Yekaterinburg, Russia. It operates scheduled and chartered domestic and international flights out of Koltsovo International Airport.
The airline was founded in 1943 as Sverdlovsk State Air Enterprises, and later became part of Aeroflot, the Soviet state airline, being in charge of Yekaterinburg Airport. Following the split-up of Aeroflot, Ural Airlines became a joint stock company incorporated under the laws of the Russian Federation on December 28, 1993, and the airline business was separated from the airport. Today, the company is owned by Ural Wings (65.77%) and Ural Transport Bank (14.67%). During its history the company has won the National Aviation Award “Wings of Russia” 14 times.
Orenburg Airlines (Orenair) is an airline based in Orenburg, Russia. It operates domestic passenger services and inclusive tour charters, as well as aerial work and special flights. Its main base is Orenburg Tsentralny Airport, with hubs at Domodedovo and Orsk.
The airline was formed from the Aeroflot Orenburg Division, which was established in 1932. It started operations under its present name in 1992.
In 2010, Orenair was acquired by Aeroflot. Last month, The Board of Directors of the Aeroflot Group decided to boost its investment in its Orenair (R2,Orenburg) subsidiary via a share capital increase. According to the minutes of the board”s latest meeting, the Group will acquire all additional shares in Orenair that are to be issued thus retaining 100% control of the carrier. The value of the transaction was not revealed.
