Tajikistan-India economic cooperation discussed in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, January 15, 2016, Asia-Plus – Tajik Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Aslov yesterday met here with Ms. Rita Teaotia, Commerce Secretary, Ministry for Commerce and Industry of India. Ms. Teaotia is also co-chairperson of the Tajikistan-India intergovernmental commission for trade and economic cooperation.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the two discussed the progress of implementation of agreements reached during a meeting of the leaders of the two countries in Dushanbe in July 2015 and ways of expansion of bilateral mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation.

They reportedly highly appraised the work of the economic cooperation commission and intensification of contacts between branch ministries and business circles of the two countries.

Tajik minister and Indian commerce secretary also discussed a number of other issues being of mutual interest.
