DUSHANBE, August 11, 2016, Asia-Plus – A serviceman of one military units of the Ministry of Defense has got a lengthy jail term for killing his comrade in arms.

A court of the Dushanbe military garrison sentenced Tojiddin Rahmatov, serviceman of military unit 06870 “V” of the Ministry of Defense (MoD), to nine years in prison on August 10.  The sentence followed his conviction of charges of murder (Article 104 of Tajikistan’s Penal Code).

Khusrav Davlatzoda, the deputy head of the Dushanbe military court, says the incident took place on March 2.  “Rahmatov shot to death his comrade in arms A. Maqsoudov from assault rifle Kalashnikov in the MoD “Bahor” camp in the Vahdat Township,” Davlatzoda said.
