DUSHANBE, April 10, Asia-Plus – The next round of negotiations of member nations of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) started in Russia’s city of Chelyabinsk on April 10 to discuss the Peace Mission 2007 military exercise for the Armed Forces of the SCO states, which is scheduled to be conducted in the Chelyabinsk region (the Urals) in August 2007.
Representatives from defense ministries of Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan have discussed issues related the upcoming war and regional security.
According to UralPolit.RU, Chelyabinck governor Eduard Rossel last week met with the Volga-Ural Military District Commander, Army General Vladimir Boldyrev to discuss preparations for the Peace Mission 2007 war game that will be conducted at the Chebarkul training ground.
Defense ministers from member nations of the SCO are scheduled to attend the joint war game in Chelyabinsk. It also cannot be ruled out that heads of state from member nations of the Organization will also arrive in Chelyabinsk for one day, according to UralPolit.Ru.
The point is that in parallel with the Peace Mission 2007 military exercise, the SCO summit will be held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
The Shanghai Cooperation Organization is a regional security and economic bloc that comprises Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
