Tajikistan receives 667 bodies from Russia in Jan-Sept 2010

DUSHANBE, October 28, 2010, Asia-Plus — Over the first nine months of this year, 844,000 Tajik nationals have entered the Russian Federation and 252,640 Tajik nationals have left Russia, according to the Interior Ministry migration service.

The source says 712,902 Tajik citizens have been registered with Russian migration services over the report period.  157,175 Tajiks have got work permits in Russia and 256,847 other Tajik nationals have been registered as “working for hire.”

Russia’s Interior Ministry reports that Tajik nationals have committed 6,846 various crimes on the territory of Russia over the same nine-month period, including 58 murders, 618 thefts, 119 robberies, 853 drug-trafficking crimes, etc.  However, approximately a half of infringements committed by Tajik nationals in Russia (3,177 cases) concerns the failure to register within three days of their arrival in Russia and forgery of migration cards and work permits.

According to the statistical data from the Russian Interior Ministry, 667 Tajik nationals have died in Russia in January-September 2010; 75 of them have been killed.
