KHUJAND, August 19, 2010, Asia-Plus  — The prosecutor’s office in Zafarobod district, Sughd province has instituted criminal proceedings against Vali Toshev, an employee of the branch of Amonatbonk (Tajikistan’s savings bank) in the district, who is suspected of having embezzled pensions, according to the Sughd police directorate.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Toshev under the provisions of Articles 245 (embezzlement or misappropriation) and 323 (service forgery) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code.  “The preliminary investigation has established that Toshev forged signatures of three pensioners and received 768 somoni,” the source said.
