DUSHANBE, July 17, 2010, Asia-Plus — Former stock farm head from Temourmalik district (Khatlon), Azizullo Nazarov, faces charges of large-scale embezzlement of state funds, the source at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said.
According to him, Nazarov is charged with embezzlement of more than 68,000 somoni. “From 2004 to 2008, when he worked as the head of the stock farm at the T. Somoni Dehqon Farm in Temourmalik district, he misappropriated 38 head of cattle belonging to the farm,” said the source, “Besides, he sold 100 head of cattle and misappropriated the proceeds. Damage caused by Nazarov to the farm was estimated at more than 68,000 somoni.”
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Azizullo Nazarov and an investigation is under way.
