QURGHON TEPPA, October 20, 2009, Asia-Plus — An orchard for growing fruits intended for exports will be laid out in Khatlon’s Bokhtar district, the Sughd agriculture directorate Sadullo Beknazarov said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, the work on laying out the orchard will be launched in the near future due funds allocated by the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA). “In 2010, the orchard will be laid out on an area of 5,600 hectares,” Beknazarov said, noting that eight specialists from the Academy of Agricultural Sciences have been invited to work with local gardeners on laying the orchard.
