DUSHANBE, May 14, 2009, Asia-Plus — Over 150 participants from Russia, China, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan have been taking part in the “SCO Model-2039” international youth business game at Ural State University of Economics (USUE) in Yekaterinburg. The game kicked off on May 13 and is concluding today.
According to organizers of the game, participants in the game have worked out supranational currencies for the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO). Each of team has offered its own vision of money of the future.
Thus, Kyrgyz team has offered a paper currency Ruan. They justified the name of the currency by saying that Russia and China would be the strongest economies within the SCO area in 30 years, and therefore, their currencies, the Ruble and the Yuan, would be dominating within the Organization.
Russian team has offered electronic money as the supranational currency for the Organization in the future.
As it had been reported earlier, the central idea of the game is to see the world economy’s future through the eyes of young people and discuss global problems the society can be confronted with in 2039. In 30 years today’s twenty-year-old people will have to meet the global challenges of the future. Their efficacy directly depends on how well they can even now come up with solutions in the sphere of economics and politics.
Each team has held a presentation, during which it has told how SCO influences on the country development, what will be the country in 30 years.
Following the game results a resolution of “SCO Summit-2039” will be adopted. This document will be sent for examination to the participants of the meeting of the Council of Heads of SCO Member States. It will be also assessed by experts – leading politicians, scientists, participants of the Russian economic forum in Yekaterinburg, as well as consul generals of the Organization member states.
