DUSHANBE, April 30, Asia-Plus — The dollar fell 2.6 percent against the somoni (TJS) Wednesday afternoon – from 1:4.25 to 1:4.15.
According to the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT), the fall has resulted from sale of foreign currency by the central bank, commercial banks and lending organizations.
It is expected that following increase in foreign currency supply demand for the somoni will increase within the next few days for securing and servicing current payments of banks and credit organization during holidays, the NBT press service reported today.
In the meantime, exchange rates of the Russian ruble and the euro have remained unchanged – 1:0.1225 and 1:5.278 respectively.
