DUSHANBE, September 12, 2011, Asia-Plus — Another drug peddler was detained at the Dushanbe airport on September 9, the Drug Control Agency (DCA) press center reports.
The source says one of passengers on the Dushanbe-Moscow flight attempted to travel to Russia with drugs in his stomach. According to him, the peddler had ingested 113 wraps of narcotic drug that tested positive to heroin weighing more than 700 grams.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug peddler under the provisions of Article 200 (3) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – drug trafficking; an investigation is under way.
