KHUJAND, January 16, 2012, Asia-Plus — Interior minister’s brother Rahmonqul Rahimov, who was relieved of his post of chief of the organized crime control department (UBOP) in Sughd province, was named to be deputy head of the Sughd customs directorate.

An official source at the Sughd customs service says that by order of Gurez Zaripov, the head of the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan, Rahmonqul Rahimov was appointed the deputy head of the Sughd customs directorate.

We will recall that the newly appointed Interior Minister Ramazon Rahimov on January 9 dismissed his son Dilshod Rahimov from his position of police operative agent with the police station in Dushanbe’s Shohmansour district and his brother Rahmonqul Rahimov from his position of chief of the organized crime control department in Sughd province.

An official source at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said the minister had made that decision to contribute to the fight against nepotism in the country.
