DUSHANBE, February 23, 2012, Asia-Plus  — On Tuesday February 21, Tajik Ambassador to Qatar with residence in Islamabad Zubaydullo Zubaydov met in Doha with Airways Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Akbar Al Baker.

According to the Tajik MFA information department, the discussed issues related to launching direct air route between the capital cities of the two countries.

Mr. Akbar Al Baker, in particular, stressed that Qatar Airways had all necessary opportunities and would take efforts to solve that issue.       

It is to be noted that Qatar Airways is the flag carrier of Qatar.  Headquartered in the Qatar Airways Tower in Doha, it operates a hub-and-spoke network, linking over 100 international destinations from its base in Doha, using a fleet of over 100 aircraft.  Qatar Airways operates services across Africa, Central Asia, Europe, Far East, South Asia, Middle East, North America, South America and Oceania, and was named Airline of the Year 2011 at the Skytrax World Airline Awards.

On the same day, Ambassador Zubaydov also met with Minister of Education and Higher Education of Qatar Saad Bin Ibrahim Al Mahmoud, who is also Secretary General of the Supreme Education Council (SEC) of Qatar.

Qatari minister reportedly noted that Qatar was always ready to expand mutually beneficial cooperation with Tajikistan.  Studying experiences of Tajikistan and Qatar in the education sector would be useful for both sides, Qatari minister noted.  He offered to organized mutual working visits of university professors and educational authorities for the purpose of studying experience of each of other, the source said.
