DUSHANBE, March 7, 2012, Asia-Plus  –On Tuesday March 6, Minister of Energy and Industries Gul Sherali, met here with Mr. Dag Malmer Halvorsen, Norway’s Ambassador to Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, the press center of the Ministry of energy and Industries (MoEI) reports.

In the course of the talks, the two reportedly discussed issues related to improvement of the investment climate in the field of construction of small hydroelectric power plants (HPPs) and opportunities of implementation projects for construction of small HPPs in Tajikistan.

Gul and Halvorsen expressed satisfaction with the results of bilateral cooperation and declared for further expansion of cooperation in the field of energy, the source said.

We will recall that a memorandum of cooperation between Tajikistan’s Ministry of Energy and Industries and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway was signed on April 29, 2010 and the Tajik-Norwegian interagency commission was set up under this document.
