DUSHANBE, March 7, 2012, Asia-Plus — To honor International Women’s Day and National Women’s Month in March, the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe is holding a photography competition with the theme: “Connecting Girls, Inspiring the Future.”

Launched on March 6, this public event will last until March 26.

Send your pictures to [email protected] to win exciting prizes.  Include “Photo Contest” in the subject line.

According to the U.S. Embassy in Dushanbe, the first prize is Sunday Brunch for four people at Roudaki Restaurant in the Dushanbe Serena Hotel.  Other prizes include photo books on the United States, American music CDs, and other exciting prizes.

Rules and Regulations: the contest is open to Tajik nationals residing in Tajikistan only. U.S. Embassy and Dushanbe Serena Hotel employees are not eligible; photos need to be the original work of the contestants who enter the contest and be shot in Tajikistan with the theme “Connecting Girls, Inspiring the Future.”  Photos will be judged based on their popular appeal, how well they illustrate the theme, and their aesthetic quality; photos must include a caption. Contestants should also include their name, address, phone number, the number of photos submitted, and the location where the photo was shot; and photos submitted may be used for public display by the U.S. Embassy and/or Serena Hotels Tajikistan.

By sending photos, contestants agree to have their work displayed.

Last date of submission is Friday, March 26, 2012.

Dushanbe Serena Hotel is co-sponsor of this event.
