DUSHANBE, March 7, Asia-Plus  — Deputies of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) on March 7 endorsed a draft law requiring amendments to the country’s law on the national budget for 2012.

Presenting the bill, Minister of Finance Safarali Najmiddinov noted that the Dushanbe mayor’s office had allocated from its budget 4.3 million somoni for delivery of technical equipment to the country for the Navrouzgoh complex.

“The government asks the parliament to exempt the Dushanbe mayor’s office from paying value added tax (VAT) and customs duties for a total amount of 850,000 somoni for delivery of the mentioned equipment to the country,” the minister noted.

Parliamentarians endorsed the draft law unanimously.
