DUSHANBE, September 12, Asia-Plus  — The Ministry of Energy and Industries (MoEI) of Tajikistan and the Deutsche Energie-Agentur GmbH (dena) – the German Energy Agency – signed a memorandum of cooperation (MoC) here at the end of last week, the MoEI press center reported.

The ministry reportedly signed similar cooperation documents with two other German companies – BAE Batterien GmbH and DPU Investment GmbH – as well.

The signed documents provide for cooperation between the sides in developing and implementing projects on the renewable energy sources in Tajikistan, the source said.

Established in 2000, the Deutsche Energie-Agentur GmbH (dena) – the German Energy Agency – is the center of expertise for energy efficiency, renewable energy sources and intelligent energy systems.  dena”s mission is to generate economic growth and maintain prosperity with ever lower energy inputs.  dena is reportedly developing energy efficiency and renewable energy markets in cooperation with stakeholders from the worlds of politics and business and from society at large.  Shareholders in dena are the Federal Republic of Germany, KfW Bankengruppe, Allianz SE, Deutsche Bank AG and DZ BANK AG.

BAE Batterien GmbH is a medium-sized privately owned company with a long tradition of manufacturing lead-acid batteries.  It produces its high quality batteries in Berlin since 1899.  BAE is worldwide active and its core business is in the production and sales of stationary batteries for the use in back-up power solutions for Utilities, Telecommunication as well as UPS for industrial applications.

DPU Investment GmbH is the company that develops projects on energy and renewable energy sources and attracts international investment.
