DUSHANBE, September 12, 2012, Asia-Plus  — On Tuesday September 11, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Sharif Rahimzoda met here with a delegation of the National Defence College (NDC) of India, led by Rear Admiral Ravindra Gaikwad.

The press center of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade (MoEDT) reports the sides discussed the current socioeconomic situation in Tajikistan and the progress of economic reform in the country.

They also exchanged views on state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral economic cooperation between Tajikistan and India, the source said.

We will recall that President Emomali Rahmon paid a state visit to India this month.  The visit resulted in signing of six cooperation documents.

According to data of the Agency fro Statistics under the President of Tajikistan, a two-way trade between Tajikistan and India in January-July this year has valued at some US$15 million.  This consisted of Tajikistan’s exports to India estimated at US$85,000 and Tajikistan’s imports from India worth US$14.915 million.
