Tajikistan starts restructuring 37 large enterprises

DUSHANBE, January 24, Asia-Plus – “To date individual projects have been worked out for reorganizing, giving in concession or external management 37 subjects of natural monopoly and especially large enterprises of Tajikistan,” Sherali Gulov, Chairman of the State Committee for Management of State-owned Property, told journalists on January 24.  

He noted that 27 of those enterprises were under jurisdiction of the Ministry of Energy.  According to him, to date, the government has already endorsed the individual project for restructuring the State Unitary Enterprise “Tojiksement” (Dushanbe cement plant) and consideration of the individual project for restructuring the Joint-Stock Company (JSC) “Tojik Telecom” (Tajik fixed-line operator) is nearing completion.

Chairman of the State Committee for Management of State-owned Property noted that the individual projects for restructuring the remaining 25 large enterprises had been sent for consideration to the ministries of finance, economy and justice.
