, April 11, Asia-Plus – A three-day session of the CIS railways council opened in the Estonian capital of
Tallinn
on April 11.
According to information from the Tajik Railways, the leadership of the railway companies of the former Soviet republics including
Latvia
,
Lithuania
,
Estonia
, as well as representatives of
Bulgaria
and
Finland
are attending the meeting in
Tallinn
.
Vladimir Sobkalov, First Deputy Tajik Railways Chairman, Saidqul Yodgorov, head of the transportation department within the Tajik Railways, Nina Kiryushkina, chairperson of the Tajik Railways finance department, and Anisa Gerasimova, chairperson of the Tajik Railways department for statistics, will represent
Tajikistan
at the session in
Tallinn
.
The source says the meeting is aiming to consider a broad range of issues including the tariff policy of railways, the standard traffic schedule of passenger and cargo trains for 2006-2007
Besides, participants at the meeting also intend to discuss issues related to making changes and addenda to the treaty between administrations of railways from the CIS states and Baltics as well as issues of application of separate norms in international passenger communication, etc.
Officials with the Tajik Railways also supposed to hold bilateral talks with top managers of railways of a number of the CIS countries on sidelines of the session.
