, remarked at a news conference in


Dushanbe


on May 3 that dilapidated banknotes of 5,20 and 50 Dirams’ denomination would be withdrawn from the circulation in the country by late July this year.   

Alimardonov said banknotes of these denominations would be replaced with coins.  According to the Tajik central bank head, at present some 20 million Somonis are in circulation in the country; “however, this figure always fluctuates.”
