DUSHANBE, June 1, Asia-Plus – On the sidelines of the meeting of SCO heads of parliament, Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev, Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament), met with his Russian counterpart, Sergey Mironov, speaker of Russia’s lower chamber of parliament, the Federation Council, in Moscow on May 30.
According to information from the Majlisi Milli, their talks focused on prospects of further expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation between
Tajikistan
and
Russia
. The source says Ubaidulloyev and Mironov exchanged views on the first meeting of the SCO speakers of parliament in
Moscow
.
The two also reached an agreement on holding of a Tajik-Russian Inter-Parliamentary Forum in
Dushanbe
in August this year. Heads of region and top managers of representative organizations from
Russia
and
Tajikistan
are supposed to attend this forum.
