According to him, it has resulted from reducing working capital of some enterprises and organizations that has led to decline in tax payments.

Mr. Ismoilov has noted that among the large tax payers in Tajikistan are the Tajik Aluminum Plant (TadAZ), the Ministry of Energy, as well as large joint ventures such as “Zarafshon”, ”Kabool-Tajik Textiles”, “Javoni” and all large commercial banks operating in the country.

“Annually, the large tax payers account for 60 percent of tax payments transferred to the country’s national budget,” Mr. Ismoilov noted, noting that that issue of debts on tax payments remain the key problems facing their inspectorate.

“The “Barqi Tojik” state joint-stock holding company remains the largest debtor on tax payments in the country,” the MTCSD official stressed, adding that the Tajik power holding has to date accounted to 60 percent of a total volume of debts on tax payments.
