KULOB, September 4, Asia-Plus — A regional contest among the best cooks from all 25 districts of Khatlon entitled “Pilaf-Khatlon 2006” will be held in Kulob on Tuesday, September 5.  

Khayrullo Tohirov, the head of the culture department of Kulob mayor’s office, has told Asia-Plus that cooks participating in the contest will compete with each other on cooking pilaf.  According to him, the contest winners will cook pilaf during celebrations to mark the 2700

anniversary of the city of Kulob.  “2,700 coppers of pilaf are supposed are supposed to be cooked during the upcoming celebrations,” the Asia-Plus interlocutor said.
