Tajik president, Imdod Committee head to discuss further expansion of cooperation

DUSHANBE, September 4, Asia-Plus — Issues related to prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Iran’s Imdod Committee and Tajikistan’s Government will be the aims of a meeting of President Emomali Rahmonov with visiting Chairman of the Imdod Committee Said Reza Nayeri in Dushanbe today evening, the Imdod Committee Dushanbe Office press service reported. 

According to the source, the Imdod Committee named after Khomeini has worked in Tajikistan for already 12 years.  It has its field offices in Vahdat, Kulob, Nurobod and Rasht.  The Imdod Committee provides micro loans up to US$500 bearing no interest to those needed for launching sowing and other mini shops.  Over the past 12 years, 6,500 people in Tajikistan have received permanent or extraordinary aid from the Committee.      

Tomorrow, Mr. Said Reza Nayeri intends to meet with senior representatives from Tajikistan’s Ministry of Labor and Social Security to sign an agreement on further expansion of bilateral cooperation.   

Qudratullo Qurbonov, the head of the department for international ties of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, has told Asia-Plus that the agreement proposes providing joint assistance to Tajikistan’s vulnerable sections of the population, organizing various activities to reveal such sections of the population and providing aid to them.
