DUSHANBE, March 5, Asia-Plus – An operation by officers from the Tajik Drug Control Agency (DCA) has led to the seizure of a large amount of heroin in Dushanbe.
According to the counternarcotics agency, a 40-year-old resident of Dushanbe was arrested on March 4 on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking. “When searching his house, the DCA officers found five packages containing some five kilograms of heroin,” the source said, adding that the arrest of this drug pusher resulted in detention of a 33-year-old resident of the Panj district (Khatlon), who had provided the Dushanbe drug pusher with drug.
A source at the DCA said that the preliminary investigation has established that the Dushanbe resident had promised the drug trafficker from Panj to find courier for transporting narcotics to Russia.
The same day, officers from the counternarcotics agency nabbed two drug pushers in the Rudaki district. 300 grams of heroin were confiscated from them.
