Blind Society organizes festive activities for blind children in Tajik capital

DUSHANBE, June 1, Asia-Plus – On occasion of International Children’s Day (ICD), the Dushanbe office of Tajikistan’s Blind Society has organized festive activities for blind children living in the Tajik capital.  

Kholmahmad Tegniyev, the head of the Dushanbe Blind Society, told Asia-Plus that 172 blind children, registered with the Dushanbe Blind Society, are participating in the event.  

Besides, representatives from the Dushanbe mayor’s office, Save the Children, Inspiration Public Association as well as Bank Eshata are expected to attend the event to congratulate the children on their holiday.  

According to Tegniyev, more than 1,500 blind and partially sighted children have to date been registered with Tajikistan’s Blind Society.
