DUSHANBE, July 14, 2008, Asia-Plus — From June 29 to July 11, Rahmatillo Zoirov, the leader of the Social-Democratic Party (SDPT) made a tour of the Sughd province.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus the SDPT leader said that he had visited 11 cities and districts in northern Tajikistan during the trip. In seven of them, including Isfara, Konibodom, Khujand, Istaravsahn, Ayni, Kuhistoni Mastchoh and Panjakent, he held one-day seminars and conference.
According to him, the SDPT conference that was held in Khujand on July 3 discussed the present socioeconomic and political situation in Tajikistan, SDPT’s tactics and strategy in the upcoming parliamentary elections due in February 2010.
Besides, the head of the SDPT regional organization for Sughd was replaced and new heads of youth and women’s organizations of the SDPT in Sughd were elected.
Zoirov reminded that Dilbar Samadova had been elected the head of the SDPT regional organization in northern Tajikistan, replacing Mahmadjon Abdulloyev.
The number of members of Sughd organization’s board was increased from seven to nine. The Khuajnd company Sughdnavovar, Numon Hasanov, and lecturer at Khujand State University Ayubjon Egamov were elected to the board, the SDPT leader said.
Egamov was also elected to head the SDPT youth organization and Mashhura Ismatova was elected to head the SDPT women’s organization in northern Tajikistan.
