DUSHANBE, August 20, 2008, Asia-Plus — A scientific conference on works of founder of the Tajik-Persian classical literature Abu Abdullo Roudaki, staged by the Ministry of Culture (MoC), has been held at the Tajik National Firdavsi Library in Dushanbe. The conference is organized on occasion of the 1,500 birthday anniversary of the great poet.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, the National Firdavsi Library director Sharif Komilzoda said that an exhibition of books about Roudaki’s works as well as a meeting of readers with researchers of Roudaki’s works will be held on sidelines of the conference.
Professor Qurbon Vosiyev, Mr. Shamsulhaqq Oryonfar, Culture Attaché, the Afghan Embassy in Dushanbe, as well as a number of known Tajik poets and writers will participate at the meeting, according to Komilzoda.
