Nations Palace expected to be officially opened ahead of SCO summit

DUSHANBE, August 20, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The Kokhi Millat (Nations Palace) State Complex, which is part of ambitious municipal redevelopment plan of Dushanbe, is expected to be officially opened ahead of a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) due on August 28.

Talks of President Emomali Rahmon with his Russian (Dmitry Medvedev) and Chinese (Hu Jintao) counterparts will take at this complex, according to the Tajik MFA.  

The SCO summit itself will be held at Somon Palace.      

 We will recall that construction of Nations Palace began in 2002.  The project was implemented by Italy’s CODEST.
