DUSHANBE, August 20, Asia-Plus — The Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation has provided four containers of nonfoods to the UNDP CO Tajikistan.
SDC and UNDP CO in Tajikistan today signed official documents, under which SDC provides four containers of nonfoods to the UNDP CO in Tajikistan. The nonfoods are intended for further handover to Tajikistan’s Committee for Emergency Situations (CES), Tsentrospas (rescue service) under the CES, the UN Extraordinary Reserve for Tajikistan, and the Rapid Emergency Assessment and Coordination Team (REACT) in Tajikistan.
The assistance, including field kitchens, tents, blankets, tool sets, stretchers and other relief supplies, was handed over to them the same day.
The handover ceremony was attended by the CES head Khaibullo Latipov, UN Resident Coordinator Michael Jones and Deputy Head of the Swiss Cooperation Office in Dushanbe Chirstoff Fux and others.
