DUSHANBE, August 29, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The Dushanbe 14-point declaration adopted after an August 28 summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) contains a separate provision the situation around South Ossetia.   

The provision states that SCO member nations express concern over South Ossetia’s tensions and call on appropriate sides to take efforts to find peaceful solution to the conflict in  South Ossetia.

The SCO member nations welcome approval of six principles of cease-fire and settlement of the Georgian-South Ossetian conflict and support Russia’s active role in peacemaking and cooperation in the region.
