DUSHANBE, September 2, 2008, Asia-Plus – An international two-day conference, formally titled “Role of Female MPs in Development of Society” will open in Dushanbe tomorrow, Asia-Plus ahs learned from Shavkat Saidov, an aide to chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament).
According to him, the conference will bring together female parliamentarians from Central Asia’s states to discuss issues related to role of women in development of society, parliamentarism, as well as dialogue on this subject between the countries of the region.
The conference has been initiated by the upper house of the Tajik parliament, the aide said.
