KHUJAND, September 2, 2008, Asia-Plus — The Sughd trade unions have summed up the results of their action entitled “For Peace” and aimed at providing assistance to children from vulnerable families.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Saidboy Zokirov, head of Sughd Trade Unions’ Federation, said that they had provided 500 pupils of primary classes with school uniform. Some of pupils have also received shoes, Zokirov said.
“Besides, another 50 children from vulnerable families, whose parents work with industrial enterprises of Dousti Amirkhon, SATN, and Javoni have already been provided with school uniform,” said the trade unions head. “We conduct this action every year; last year, 500 children from vulnerable families received sportswear for physical training lessons.”
