DUSHANBE, September 5, 2008, Asia-Plus — The World Bank Group will release the latest global Doing Business 2009 Report on September 10, 2008, and spokesman from the Doing Business Project based in Washington, D.C., will conduct a media briefing via video conferencing, according to the World Bank (WB) Dushanbe Office.
The World Bank Group’s Doing Business 2009 Report ranks 181 economies on the overall ease of doing business. Doing Business tracks reforms and ranks economies based on 10 indicators of business regulation that track the time and cost to meet government requirements in starting and operating a business, trading across borders, paying taxes, and closing a business. The rankings do not reflect such areas as macroeconomic policy, quality of infrastructure, currency volatility, investor perceptions, or crime rates.
