KHUAJND, September 8, 2008, Asia-Plus — The Khujand-based limited liability company Brik, engaged in production of coal briquettes, has resumed operation after the summer period, Nasimjon Hakimov, deputy director of Brik, said in an interview with Asia-Plus.
According to him, the enterprise has produced more than 100 tons of coal briquettes since August. “Our product is realized at the rate of 45 dirams per one kilogram, while the price of one kilogram of coal in the Sughd province is now 80 dirams,” Hakimov said.
Coal briquettes produced by Brik have a burn time of four hour and the enterprise intends to produce more than 300 tons of coal briquettes by the end of this year, the deputy director said.
The Brik company has operated in northern Tajikistan since September 2007.
