Service for the dead in S Ossetia to be held at St. Nicolas Church in Dushanbe

DUSHANBE, September 15, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Service for the victims of Georgia’s assault on the breakaway region of South Ossetia will be held at the St. Nicolas Church in Dushanbe Tuesday, according to the Russian Embassy in Dushanbe.  

“Tomorrow, there will be the fortieth day of Georgia administration’s aggression against South Ossetia  and the service for the victims of the armed conflict in South Ossetia will be held at St. Nicolas Church in Dushanbe on September 16, at 10:00 a.m.,” the source at the Russian Embassy in Dushanbe said.    

“According to data having prepared by the South Ossetian side by September 9, 1,492 people, including pregnant women and children, were killed during Georgia’s assault on Tskhinval,” the source said.
