DUSHANBE, September 19, Asia-Plus — Progress of implementation of decisions adopted at the summit of the Eurasian Economic Community (EAEC) held in Dushanbe in October 2007 was a major topic of a meeting of President Emomali Rahmon with the EAEC Secretary General Tair Mansurov that was held in Dushanbe on September 18, according to presidential press service.
In the course of the talks, Rahmon and Mansurov also considered issues tabled to the upcoming EAEC summit that will be held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan in October.
The two noted that the Dushanbe summit had played an important role in development of economic cooperation between member nations of the Community, the press service said.
The EAEC groups Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Moldova and Ukraine have a status of observer at the Community.
