IKRC gives iftar to orphan children, mental patients and persons under investigation in Kulob

KULOB, September 23, 2008, Asia-Plus  — The field office of Iran’s Imam Khomeini Relief Committee (IKRC), Imdad, in Kulob yesterday gave iftar (the evening meals for breaking fast during the Islamic month of Ramadan) at the republican boarding school for orphan children, psychoneurologic dispensary and pretrial detention facility # 4 located in the city of Kulob.  

Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Abdughaffor Solehov, head of the IKRC field office in Kulob, said that on occasion of Ramadan they had also provided humanitarian aid to elderly people who don’t have relatives to support them.

“The beneficiaries included 50 elderly people, mainly Russian-speaking persons,” said Solehov, “At this stage, they received 15.00 somoni each and by Id ul-Fitr, they will have been provided with food products.”   

IKRC provides humanitarian aid to 850 vulnerable families in all ten districts of the Kulob region in Khatlon.
