DUSHANBE, October 3, 2008, Asia-Plus — The 16th session of the coordinating council of International Architects’ Association (Association) opened in Minsk, Belarus today.
The meeting participants include representatives of architects’ unions from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan, a well as Serbia and city architect’s unions of Astana (Kazakhstan), Kiev (Ukraine), Moscow and St. Petersburg. Tajik Architects’ Union head Bahrom Yusupov is representing Tajikistan at the meeting.
The session is considering the program of actions of the Association designed for next year. The meeting participants are also expected to consider the new municipal redevelopment plan for Moscow.
Besides, the 2007 best design contest will be held on sidelines of the session. Architects from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan will put on display their designs in the competition.
