716 new TB cases detected in Kulob this year

KULOB, October 15, 2008, Asia-Plus — Over the first nine months of this year, 716 new cases of tuberculosis have been detected in 10 districts of Khatlon’s Kulob region, which is 183 cases fewer than in the same period of 2007, according to the Kulob Center for Sanitary and Epidemiologic Supervision.  

In the city and the district of Kulob, the number of newly detected TB cases has reduced from 238 as of October 1, 2007 to 231, while in four other districts, the number of newly detected cases of the disease increased in the year to October 1, 2008: from 59 to 83 in Hamadoni; from 42 to 57 in Farkhor; from 43 to 62 in Temourmalik; and from 11 to 15 in Khovaling, the source at the Kulob Center for Sanitary and Epidemiologic Supervision said.    

This year, new TB cases have been detected in all ten districts of Kulob.  28 new cases have been detected in Muminobod and 7 cases have been detected in Baljuvon.
