DUSHANBE, October 24, 2008, Asia-Plus — The 34th session of the CIS Electrical Power Council has opened in Minsk, Belarus today.
According to press service of Barqi Tojik (Tajik electric systems) power holding, the Barqi Tojik top manager Sharifkhon Samiyev has been representing Tajikistan at the meeting.
The council is discussing preparation of energy bodies of the CIS states to work in autumn-winter period, draft document on formation of common electricity market, draft feasibility study on synchronous system interconnection of the CIS and Baltic states with energy bodies of UCTE (Union for the Coordination of Transmission of Electricity) and cooperation with EURELECTRIC.
Besides, the council is considering draft module agreements on cooperation of the CIS states in used of hydropower resources of trans-border rivers and reservoirs, ensuring security of hydraulic structure and some other issues.
