World financial crisis may affect Tajikistan’s economy indirectly, says minister

Date:

DUSHANBE, October 28, Asia-Plus  — The global financial crisis will not affect Tajikistan’s economy considerably, Economic Development and Trade Minister Ghulomjon Bobozoda remarked at a news conference in Dushanbe on October 27.

“Although Tajikistan’s economy is part of the world economy, I do not think that the global financial crisis will have significant impact on it,” said the minister, “It is quite natural that when a world-scale crisis occurs it affects practically all countries of the world, including Tajikistan.”

“As a rule, the world financial crisis leads to a decline in production and Tajikistan may feel a certain impact of the world economic crisis in connection with setback in production in the countries, which are its main trading partners,” said Bobozoda, “However, nobody can say when our country will fell this impact.”

On the country’s macroeconomic indices for this year, the minister noted that they practically did not differ from last year’s indices.
