DUSHANBE, October 29, 2008, Asia-Plus — A two-day session of the permanent commission of the CIS Parliamentary Assembly for local governance matters opened in Dushanbe on October 28.
Speaking in an interview with Asia-Plus, Muhammadato Sultonov, a spokesman for the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament), said that yesterday, the session discussed suitability of working out a draft model law on a procedure of participation of the local authority bodies in border cooperation and practice of local government in Tajikistan.
The session participants got acquainted with activity of the administration of Dushanbe’s Firdavsi district.
Today, members of the CIS Parliamentary Assembly’s delegation are visiting the city of Norak to familiarize themselves with activity of the Norak administration.
