DUSHANBE, November 3, 2008, Asia-Plus — Reasons for and risks and effects of the world financial crisis will be discussed at a meeting of the Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists that will be held in Yekaterinburg, Russia on November 28, according to the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade.
The source at a MoEDT said that the meeting would bring together specialists from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Ukraine to discuss the mentioned issues.
The meeting participants are also expected to consider issues relating to instituting the Club awards of US$10,000 for the two best economic scientists.
The establishment of the Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists was initiated by Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev. On April 18, 2008, Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Economic and Budget Planning and Economic Research Institute held a meeting of the organizing committee for the establishment of the Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists. Known researchers from nine states of the Eurasian region, including Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Ukraine, and Uzbekistan as well as the representatives of international organizations, including Secretariat of Eurasian Economic Community and International Union of Economists participated the meeting.
The purpose of the Eurasian Economic Club of Scientists is to unite the efforts of the economic scientists and experts, as well as the public representatives in solving economic development issues, assisting and contributing to economic and social progress of the international community, creating conditions for mutual exchange of ideas, experiences, knowledge in organization and management on macro and micro levels.
