DUSHANBE, November 10, 2008, Asia-Plus — Days of Culture Azerbaijan in Tajikistan kicked off in Dushanbe on November 9.
According to the Ministry of Culture (MoC), a delegation numbering 73 persons and led by Azeri Culture and Tourism Minister Abulfas Garayev arrived in Dushanbe to participate in the event that runs through November 12. The Azeri delegation members include known Azeri cultural figures such as playwright Ali Amirli, composer Eldar Mansourov and others.
The source at a MoC said that during his stay in Dushanbe, Abulfas Garayev is scheduled to hold talks with his Tajik counterpart Mirzoshorukh Asrori.
Photo and decorative-and-applied arts exhibitions will be held in Dushanbe on sidelines of Days of Azeri Culture in Tajikistan. “An exhibition of works by Azeri painters will be held in the National Museum named after Kamoliddin Behzod,” said the source, “Besides, composer Eldar Mansourov is scheduled to hold meeting with teachers and students at Tajik National Conservatory and Ali Amirli will hold meeting with Tajik writers.”
A large gala concert with participation of known Azeri and Tajik artistes will be held in Dushanbe today.
